Pat O'Loughlin
Pat O’Loughlin brings more than four decades of leadership experience in the electric utility industry, including over 22 years with Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives and Buckeye Power. He served nearly a decade as President and CEO of both Buckeye Power, the generation and transmission cooperative serving Ohio, and Ohio’s Electric Cooperatives, the statewide trade association representing the cooperative program.
Throughout his career, Pat has been a strong advocate for collaboration, innovation, and strategic alignment across the cooperative network. Under his leadership, Ohio’s cooperative organizations strengthened their operational performance, deepened industry partnerships, and enhanced their influence at both the state and national levels.
Pat’s industry leadership extends well beyond his executive roles. He has served on the Boards of Directors for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI), Cardinal Operating Company, Ohio Valley Electric Corporation (OVEC), and the Alliance for Cooperative Energy Services (ACES). He was an active member of the Rural Electric Statewide Managers Association (RESMA) and the G&T Managers Association, and played a significant role within NRECA, serving on the National Resolutions Committee and the Regulatory Standing Committee. He also co-chaired the joint RESMA–G&T Managers CO₂ Education and Discussion Advisory Committee, helping guide cooperative leaders through evolving environmental and regulatory challenges.
A graduate of Miami University in Ohio, Pat earned a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Physics and a Master of Environmental Sciences. He and his wife, Nancy, divide their time between Ohio and Florida.
